Defibrillators

We have all seen in movies and on TV when arrhythmias cause life-threatening emergencies, defibrillation is done with an external "paddle" device called a defibrillator. If your heart generates its own abnormal electrical impulses, these can override the heart's normal electrical control mechanism. If this occurs regularly, in routine situations, an automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) can be implanted to monitor and deliver therapy when it's necessary. Your ICD detects and diagnoses your situation and will deliver the therapy necessary to correct your abnormal heart rhythms.

AAC physicians have been leaders in defibrillator technology, treatment and development lending their expertise to many defibrillator manufactures and the EP Community.
